Going to the vet or being handled by you for routine care can be stressful for our dogs. In fact, it can be a down right scary event for all involved! All our dogs need some form of handling and restraint for wellness care. From veterinary procedures, to grooming, to in-home care, such as ear cleaning, and nail trims.
This is why we offer both prevention and rehabilitative training options for vet visits and wellness care. We will work together to teach your puppy or adult dog to enjoy a variety of handling and restraint, to feel safe with a variety of implements, and teach them a range of participatory behavior skills to utilize in your home and the vet clinic environment.

Get started with a behavior consultation. After the initial behavior consultation, we continue online or move to in-person sessions at Milwaukee Vet Clinic based on your dog's wellness plan.
THE PACKAGE - PROCESS
Session 1 ONLINE (45-minutes)

- We begin by discussing how animals learn and why handling and restraint is a common discomfort for our companions.
- We then move to you sharing your puppy or adults dogs experience to date (if any), and your observations of their responses to handling and restraint.
- After discussing your companion's needs, we dig into the details of where we will start with your management and training plans.
Session 2 - At the Clinic (45-minutes)
- We meet at one of our partner clinics.
- You are walked through your personalized vet care and wellness exercises via live demos or if needed for your dogs comfort, video demos for you to watch.
- Then it is your turn and we coach you through the exercises with your own pup.
Session 3 - At the Clinic (45-minutes)
- We check in on progress, guide you on next steps or help make tweaks on your plan with the techie bits that matter like timing and motivation values.
